Prepping for a Gallery – Quick Guide

This is a quick guide for gallery preparation.  The higher quality materials you use, but better your final outcome.

These have been written specifically for the gallery at West Photo for March 2015.  You will need to purchase your own print and frame to participate.  Pieces will need to be ready by February 27th!

  1. Get a high-quality 11×14 print.  You will need to crop your photo to fit that size.  I have contacted West Photo and have alerted them people will be needing prints for the gallery.
    1. West Photo offers 15% printing discounts for Minnesota Photography Club and Minnesota Exposure Facebook group members.
  2. Purchase a nice 16×20 frame matted to accept 11×14 photographs – Frames need to be wire hang-able.
    1. Simple frames are better, black or brown.
    2. Be sure it includes a mat.
    3. You can find reasonable prices at Jo-Anne’s, Michael’s, Hobby Lobby, or any other place.
  3. Mount the photo to the mat.  If you need help, bring your photo with you when you purchase the frame.
    1. Some stores offer mounting service for free.
    2. Make sure there is not lint or dust between the glass and your photograph.photoframed
